“Shaman’s Call”

Well Happy Solstice to you all…. I haven’t sent out much for awhile. It has been a pretty chaotic and challenging few years and if we learned a few things, at least patience was one. You can’t push the river. I think we may have learned to trust in greater forces, natural ones…..not power pushers. Some of the greatest powers are the four elements…Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

Living on the edge of the Pacific Ocean has taught me great respect for those forces. My roof could blow off, some homes here have been lifted off their foundations by the wind, with people in them, dropped down with the foundations coming up through the floor. Between wind, waves (sometimes 50 ft. high), rivers rising, earthquakes rumbling and the occasional fire having to be put out, I figure we are lucky to be alive.

So we persevere, never giving up. I tell myself to be strong, courageous and don’t complain. Trust in those greater forces to guide and help us and show us the way. The path through the darkness takes one step and each step opens the door for the next one. It is a marvellous, surprising world. Don’t let dark forces pull you down. The light will show the way. Past narratives don’t necessarily show the way or define the future. Don’t extrapolate…. the future is open, creativity is calling, we are candles in the darkness, remembering who and why we are. The present narrative isn’t the future. It will be what we make it and we can and will shift it into a place that honours the good, the light, the right and the beautiful. As the old paradigm passes into this new moment, it is full of potential and promise. Make it right with light shining on it. Open the door…Hanta Yo! …Lakota for “Clear the Way!”.

Remember that hate is like drinking poison and hoping the other one dies.

Everything is sentient.

Walk in beauty. The spirit of the land drives us and guides us.
