….Rising UP and Clearing the Way...
A lot of turmoil has taken place lately with governments capitulating to corporate affairs, keeping jobs at any cost, degradation of our environment, lands and waters, extremes of climate factors, lock-downs and humans hurting humans. Police violence and unnecessary force resulting in death has been prevalent and happening nearby (I may talk about this later but grieving sets a precedent at the moment). It all put me into a tailspin this last full moon. It is necessary to step back, take some deep breaths, take a few moments or hours to remind oneself not to get wrapped up or captured by it all swirling around us.
Injustice pushes buttons and it is not surprising that we jump on the bandwagon. That can be a good thing as long as it does no harm. That's why it is good to give it time. Easy to say, sometimes hard to do in the pressure cooker of what is going on.
There was an Elder I met years ago who couldn't read or write, but his girlfriend was writing down his wisdom which was amazing. He prophesised that there would come a time when humans would feel trapped, there would be many of us and that we would be bouncing off each other trying to escape the walls that seemed like there was no way out. He drew a square in the sand and many dots within it, mostly in one area. He said that when that happens, calm oneself and that is when Spirit will tap you on the shoulder and show you the doorway where few were looking.
So I went to the window and looked up for my eagle friend...there she was, sitting quietly, patiently, waiting for me to pay attention. The raccoons were busy playing in the branches of the berry bush out the window and the songbirds were singing and the ocean is beautiful with its steady rhythm of waves on the shore like a great being breathing in and out. All the craziness of humankind went out the window, well not all, residues remain and I work at trying to do what I can to right the wrongs, however they seem to me and to keep on keeping on.
So I stoke the fire, feed the birds, water the plants and empty the pots.
There is an old Mohawk saying that a society is done when the hearts of the women are on the ground. So I pick my myself up, rise up, thank this Mother Earth, Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Moon, ALL my relations and carry on.

I love this and am so grateful my mom sent the link on- I love hearing your perspective and always have loved hearing you talk. I miss you and your family. I woke up a few times thinking about Misty last month. I don’t have a way of getting ahold of her, but if you can pass on a hug for me?
Also incredible art, and it appears Mila has inherited your talents!
Love and miss you all- Sara (Eastwood)
Thank you Susanne - always inspiring and calming. Hugs and love from us both........Kathy
