Dear Friends, it has been awhile since I made a post. It has been a busy summer but Equinox and finding balance called me to put these old cards I did back in 1987 out in the face of the swinging pendulum of extremes. I apologize for the poor photo quality but the message is there. Wishing you all a happy equinox, hold the light.
“THE BALANCE HOLDER”
The balance point is the point in between all pairs of opposites, where we are not for or against, up or down, it is a still, calm place where we can see what is and ways that we can respond.
“OTTER CREATES THE WORLD FROM A HANDFUL OF MUD”
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance …not just outward vigilance but vigilance over internal inertia, complacency, cynicism and apathy. If we are to survive, we have no room for these…for the issue is greater than freedom…the issue is survival.
“TREE OF THE FOUR CORNERS”
The great peacemaker took all the weapons of war and threw them in a hole…then he planted a tree and called it the great tree of peace and he placed an eagle in the topmost branches to watch and cry out if any evil approached the people. And the four roots spread out in the four directions and their nature is peace and strength. If any man or any nation shall obey the laws of the Great Peace, they may trace the roots to their source and they shall be welcomed to take shelter beneath the tree…..
The Great Law of Peace ….Deganawjdah (Iroquois)
“WREN EMERGING FROM THE RAINBOW SHELL AND CREATION OF THE WORLD”
The part of wisdom is to establish, here and there, centers in which right relationships can exist by the power of a common understanding of what is ultimately important.
From such centers there can spread throughout the world, perhaps far more quickly than you might imagine possible, the seeds of a new world.
“ANCIENT VOICES”
This Earth is precious. To harm the Earth is to heap contempt on its’ creator. When the buffalo are all slaughtered, the wild horses tamed, the secret corners of the forest heavy with the scent of men and the view of the ripe hills blotted by talking wires, where is the thicket? Gone. Where is the eagle? Gone.
Chief Sealth 1855
“DANCING THE FOUR CORNERS AWAKE”
Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence, yet it is one essential vital quality for those who seek to change the world that yields painfully to change. Robert Kennedy
“SPIRIT OVER MIND SILENCING THOUGHT”
If a new world is to come, we must first create it in ourselves. You may ask how the work of a few people can change the world. It has always been so. Ideas are powerful, not organizations. Nothing can be done by outward force…everything can be done by inner strength.
“DREAM HEALING”
Our peace that reaches from Earth to Heaven, from the cosmic heights to the depths of matter, our peace that we radiate out patiently, ceaselessly to a world sadly in need of it is here for you. We remind you that you too can find this peace, through us and through what you have of us within you. Linger in the forests. Linger near us. Healing comes when you do. All is within. We help you find it.
Findhorn Tree Devas
“MEDICINE KEEPER”
The principle hope for the future comes from the expanding interest in integrative understandings like ecology which work to sharpen our perception and raise our consciousness of the interrelatedness of all things animate and inanimate.
“THUNDERBIRD AND LIGHTNING SNAKE”
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the children of the Earth. Chief Sealth 1855
“BIRTH”
This Earth is sacred…Do we care enough to save it or are we indifferent to our grandchildren’s capacity for wonder?
“THUNDERBIRD DRUM DANCE”
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, these ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest wall of oppression and resistance. Robert Kennedy
“RAINBOW GUARDIANS”
As each wild species and wild place is destroyed, our soul connection to this awareness is erased and with it goes human instinct.
