It has been a long slow end to a game that got faster as we neared the finish. Wealth has accumulated to the point of pointlessness for the rich, which must be challenging to find things to do with it all, living on interest rates and accumulating even more...where government lies and pretense give people the concept that they still have a voice or maybe a country. Governments have become a puppet of industrial wealth and the rich have bought up more industry, more land and more countries until a few have it all and the game is over. People are squabbling over the last of the resources; subsidies, bailouts and tax cuts go to industry and the wealthy have their money in tax havens. Now what? What more can those few do to control and own it all? Must be kind of boring except the debt to the planet is now huge and throughout it all, it always has the control.
Lessons hopefully will be learned...how to take less, give more back. The lessons this planet has to teach are not restricted by monetary control. Everything is feeling the debt, no matter how rich one is. You cannot eat, breathe or drink money. You cannot bring back the old growth forests, the diversity or the species going extinct. You cannot create fresh clean air or water. This Earth gave us the book to learn from and sadly it has been burned like the Alexandrian Libraries and the blueprint is almost gone.
What is valuable are those people still living simply, in balance with love, grace and gratitude for what is there and the animals and wild creatures who have known forever how to keep that balance...taking only what they need, leaving enough to sustain them in the future, knowing instinctively how to keep that balance. A healthy environment makes for a healthy and abundant life but that is obviously askew.
“Everything is Connected”
There are good people out there knowing how to share, living with the Earth in a harmonious way. Money or supposed control doesn't win happiness, that path just goes down a dark spiral of delusion, a theme that our society has lived off of too long and which is rapidly losing ground...time to turn it around. A code of ethical standards for our environment must prevail. Jobs at any cost cannot continue to rule our governments and corporate plans.
There is a saying that resonates with me at this time...”The moment you recognize what is beautiful in this world, you stop being a slave” ...(from White Tiger) and Carlos Castenada said, just before he passed that …”If you love this Earth with all your heart and soul, it will set you free”. It’s time to understand that and take care of it.
